Competitiveness Effects of Environmental Tax Reforms (COMETR)
The COMETR project seeks to analyse and quantify the economic and environmental implications of environmental tax reform, notably carbon-energy taxes, in the enlarged European Union.

The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies is a participant in the project and supplies data and expertise on the economic structures of the New Member States.

COMETR is supported by financing from the EU's Sixth Framework Programme for Research (FP6). COMETR is coordinated by the Department of Policy Analysis at the National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) in Denmark.

Project duration: December 2004 to December 2006.
