Robert Lawrence is Albert L. Williams Professor of International Trade and Investment at Harvard University. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Institute for International Economics in Washington and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He served as a member of President Clinton's Council of Economic Advisors from 1998 to 2000. He also taught at Johns Hopkins University and Yale University, where he received his PhD in economics and was the New Century Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. Professor Lawrence has served on the Advisory Boards of the Congressional Budget Office, the Institute for International Economics, the Overseas Development Council, and the Presidential Commission on United States-Pacific Trade and Investment Policy.
Professor Lawrence is one of the outstanding international experts on trade policy, regionalism, and competitiveness. He is the author of 'Can America Compete?'; 'Regionalism, Multilateralism and Deeper Integration'; and 'Single World, Divided Nations?'. He is co-author of 'A Prism on Globalization'; 'Globaphobia: Confronting Fears About Open Trade'; 'A Vision for the World Economy'; 'Saving Free Trade: A Pragmatic Approach'; and 'Primary Commodity Markets and the New Inflation'.
 
Dalia Marin teaches economics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich. She lso also is a research fellow with the London-based Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Before being appointed to her current position, Professor Marin taught at he Humboldt University in Berlin. Between 1992 and 1995 she did research at Harvard University, Stanford University and the Massachussetts Institute of Technology.
