| Oleh Havrylyshyn
was formerly Deputy Director of the EUR II dept. in the IMF,
responsible for countries of the FSU, and earlier served in
the first Ukrainian government in 1992-93 in the capacity of
Deputy Minister of Finance, International Affairs. He completed
his BA at Queen’s University, Canada, and PhD at MIT. Until
his involvement in transition issues in Ukraine and elsewhere,
he was Professor of Economics at Queen’s University and George
Washington University. He has written extensively on international
economics, development and transition issues. His recent book
Divergent Paths in Post-Communist Transformation: Capitalism
for All or Capitalism for the Few? was published in 2006
by Palgrave MacMillan. The latest book, co-edited witth L. Vinhas
de Souza, Return to Growth in CIS Countries: Monetary Policy
and Macroeconomic Framework, was released in 2006 by Springer
Verlag. |
